Interesting. Truth be told, most people here in the states aren't familiar with
foreign movies either, mostly because they're shown in fewer and fewer places
than most of the big name movies. I'm just lucky that I have an interest in
foreign films, and that there are places around here that I can find them...to a
point. Always looking for more though...
Ooooooh. Interesting. Sounds very familiar, actually.... Killer doll movies were
always unique, though I haven't seen one in a while. Not since this one where a
boy's doll becomes possessed by the ghost of a serial killer.
...and don't worry about being demure. Truth be told I like the violent stuff as
well, though I also like suspense and tension too. Has me thinking about this
scene form this one movie I saw from a while back: a woman chases a killer into
a pitch black basement. So dark, she cannot see even the slightest distance, and
yet the killer is standing right next to her, watching her every move through
night vision goggles. He even reaches out towards her, and she doesn't even
realize how close he is to her.

those asian horror flicks are shown in local and cable channels and dvd's are
sold in record stores. the rest, like those italian movies, are not shown nor
sold.

Ooooh, interesting. I've yet to see the DeathNote movie, though it's being
screened in theaters in my neck of the woods sometime soon. I like Death Note,
though sadly I'm barely getting into it at the moment through the episodes they
show on TV.
As for me, my tastes cater towards action, sci-fi, comedy, and foreign movies in
general (also includes J-horror) Always looking for more good movies to

Hmmm... ...fav movies... If I told you each and every one of my favorites, it
would probably be a giant list that would take up so much space here , but here's a shortened version. Some of my favs are Indiana Jones, Suspiria
(italian horror), Animal House, Seven Samurai, The Magnificent Seven, King Kong,
Godzilla, Run Lola Run, and anything by Alfred Hitchcock (Vertigo, Psycho), John
Carpenter (The Thing, Halloween), Tim Burton (Sweeny Todd, Nightmare Before
Xmas), Quentin Tarrantino (Pulp Fiction), and Robert Rodriguez (Sin City,
Desperado) just to name a few.

Ouch... ...that has to stink. Guess I should count my blessings with what I've
got.
As for Suspiria, where to begin? (please forgive if I start to rant) First came
out in the 70s, it's a Italian horror film by director Dario Argento, who is
pretty much known for the loud music and sheer degree of violence in his Giallo
(italian slasher mystery) films. Suspiria focuses on Susie Bannion, a young
woman attending a ballet academy in Germany. However, on the rain-soaked night
she arrives, she sees another running away from the academy in terror. As the
girl is brutally killed that very night, Susie finds herself trying to deal with
the bizarre and unusual incidents which happen to her in the academy, which she
soon discovers is actually a front for a coven of witches.
This is a great movie to see if you're a fan of horror, but a fair word of
warning should you ever come across it. Argento movies tend to be a bit on the
bloody side, and this one is no exception. The first death in particular is IMO
pretty unnerving even by today's standards.
